The Office of Catholic Schools Presents

Catholic Educators Conference

October 21-22, 2008

St. Paul Catholic High School, Bristol, CT

Featuring

Dr. Elinor Ford

About Our Speaker

Dr. Elinor R. Ford has long been a friend, a supporter, a champion and a challenger to those who so valiantly serve and lead the various ministries within Catholic education and parishes. Dr. Ford received her doctorate from Columbia University, New York.  She served as Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York, becoming the first woman appointed to this system that at the time served approximately 200 elementary and 80 secondary schools across ten counties of New York State. Elinor has spent the past fifteen years of her life following another dream – to help create the future leaders of Catholic education in both schools and parishes. To do this, she has partnered with visionary diocesan leaders to teach at the various Catholic universities with whom they have created specific graduate programs to train teachers and catechists to become principals, DRE's, and other local and diocesan leaders.

Dr. Ford will address our Catholic educators on the topic:

Saint Paul of Yesterday and Pope Benedict XVI of Today:

One Message for Catholic Educators.

Over 1,100 Catholic School Educators from across the Archdiocese of Hartford will gather over the course of these two days. In addition to hearing from one of the preeminent women in Catholic school education, they will also have the following opportunities:

  • To participate in Mass celebrated by Archbishop Henry J. Mansell
  • To spend time in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament
  • To recognize the service of their peers who have spent many years in the ministry of Catholic school education
  • To visit exhibitors from a wide variety of companies that provide goods and services to our Catholic schools
