Administrative Position

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS

  1. The applicant must be a practicing Catholic.  This will be verified as part of the application process.  Applicants who are members of Religious Communities must receive a statement of support for their candidacy from their Major Superior.
  2. The applicant must be able to verbalize and clarify a philosophy of Catholic education and demonstrate a commitment to the development of Christian spirit and a Catholic community of faith within a school structure.
  3. The applicant must possess a Master’s Degree and certification as a school administrator in Connecticut or Catholic School Leadership certification.
  4. The applicant must have five years or more of successful teaching and/or administrative experience, preferably within a Catholic school.  Such experience should be sufficiently broad to include a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum issues that are uniquely appropriate to the Catholic school as well as curriculum in general.
  5. The applicant must demonstrate leadership ability evidenced by performance in past educational assignments.
  6. The applicant must have completed the application process and been approved by the Office of Catholic Schools.

Together with the application form, the following items are listed in the application packet are required:

  • An updated resume.
  • A personal statement which is requested on the application form.
  • A letter of approval by your pastor.  (Religious applicants must submit a letter of support from their Major Superior.)
  • Official transcripts from college(s) universities submitted directly to the Office of Catholic Schools.
  • Letters of reference mailed directly to the Office of Catholic Schools.
  • Evidence of finger printing by the State of Connecticut.
When all documentation has been received and the file is complete, applicants will be scheduled for an interview at the Office of Catholic Schools.
